Obituary of John Dee Wagner

John “Dee” Wagner, 57 of Mebane, NC passed away peacefully on October 3, 2022 in his home.

Mr. Wagner was born in Pitt County, NC on January 6, 1965. He is survived by his wife, Angelette Fox Wagner, his parents, David and Carolyn Wagner, a sister, Lisa Wagner, a nephew, David Coleman Wagner, a great-niece, Amelia Nicole Wagner, his beloved dog, Shiloh and other close family and friends.  He is preceded in death by his brother, Ernie Wagner, Paternal Grandparents, Ira Coleman and Lillian Cole Wagner and his Maternal Grandparents Ernest Edward and Ruth Laws Medlin.

Dee was a 1983 graduate of Monacan High School in Richmond, VA, although he resided in NC for most of his life. After a period of time as a lineman at Duke Power, he worked as a heavy equipment operator in various cities, and most recently managed residential rental property of his own in Hillsborough, NC.

He was a loving husband, son, brother, uncle, friend and member of his community. He was a Scottish Rite Mason and Shriner. He was passionate about family and enjoyed boating, fishing and spending time with family and friends. Those who knew Dee best will remember him for his big heart and capacity for compassion for others.

The family will receive visitors at Walkers Funeral Home in Mebane, NC on Thursday, October 6, 2022 from 5:30 – 6:30 with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 7:00pm with Rev. Sammy Ballard officiating.
